This story starts slowly, some parts are dull. The book’s description and some interesting parts kept me reading for more. I figured it as a slow-starting story that will gradually pull me in as it gets more exciting.
However, while some parts were exciting it wasn’t long before it seemed to go back to a monotonous drone.
I can’t say I hated the book, but I can say it is not a favorite. I would be willing to read more of the author. I do not feel the author’s skill can be judged by one short story. I give 3 stars because I was drawn to the story enough to finish but I cannot give anymore because the thrill I was expecting never came.

Life Sentence (Cancer Is My Name) review

A very moving collection of poetry which lashes out at the cancer monster with all of the feelings of a patient in the final stages of cancer. They are intense and beautiful yet sad and hopeful.
